Isn't coaching just for underperformers?
Not at all. We can work with people who would like to perform better, but doesn't everyone want to be better. Coaching for is is about helpeing lawyers become great at whatever they want to do.
We often use the analogy of sport to help illustarte the need for a coach. Tiger Woods and Roger Federer are outstanding sportsmen yet both have coaches. Why? Can they be taught any more about how to play their sport? Probably not. Lawyers are the same as sports people. They are high achievers. Ask yourself the question - How great do I want to be? A coach can help you get there.
Is coaching like counselling, mentoring or teaching?
No. All the above have some element of directing people to a solution whilst coaching allows the individual to find their own solution. Think about it. If you come up with your own solution wouldn't that feel fantastic. A coach works with you to create aplan for your outcome's achievement.
What is involved in coaching?
Initially we have an evaluation session with a potential client to see if we can help you with your goals. We can then tell you what we offer and you can decide whether or not that suits you.
We meet at your office for success sessions. Depending upon what coaching package and objective you want to achieve that could be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. We can meet face to face or have coaching over the telephone. Face to face sessions are 2 hours long and telephone sessions 30 minutes.
You receive detailed sessions sumamries after each time we meet so you have a record of your journey. This forms an invaluable learning resource for you after the coaching has finished.
Can I get CPD hours for coaching?
Yes. We are accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority to award CPD hours for coaching sessions.
